En savoir plus

The Samyang 16mm T2.2 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR Lens is a fast,is a ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for CS / cropped sensors APS-C / DX and MFT cameras and camcorders. Available mounts for Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony A, Sony E, Canon M (EF-EOS M), Fuji / Fujifilm X and Olympus / Panasonic Micro Four Thirds (MFT / M43) fittings

This VDSLR (Video DSLR) version has been developed primarily for professional cine / movie making purposes. The VDSLR version feature follow focus gearing and decoupled aperture, which allow the user to smoothly and quietly change focus and aperture / depth of field whist filming, and link to professional follow focus cam systems.

The Samyang is rated in T-Stops rather than F-stops which is usual for movie camera lenses. F-stop number expresses the speed of the lens on the assumption that lens transmits 100% of the incident light. The T-number expresses the actual light transmission, which is more accurate, and is the standard in professional cine lenses.

The Samyang 16mm T2.2 ED AS UMC CS VDSLR lens version is optically the same as the standard Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS version

The Samyang 16mm is a rectilinear lens, offering superb image quality and low distortion. It is perfectly suited to cropped sensor cameras for landscape and general photography requiring a high quality wide angle lens. The large f2 aperture allows for low light photography.

Optical construction is 13 elements in 11 groups, with 2 aspherical lenses, 1 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) element and one hybrid aspherical and feature Samyang's UMC Ultra Multi coating coating which ensures superb transmission of light, and minimises flare and ghosting. The elements are housed in a solid body weighing from approx 570g, dependant on mount.

Suitable for both for professional and amateur photographers the 16mm is equivalent to 24mm equivalent on APS-C sized sensors, 25.6mm on Canon EOS (1.6x crop factor), and 32mm on Olympus and Panasonic MFT sensor system cameras.

The new Samyang 16mm lens accepts 77mm filters to attach ND, polarisers or any filter with a 77mm filter thread, and features a detachable petal lens hood.

The Samyang 16mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring which is smooth and well-damped. This provides a positive manual focus, particularly suitable for more professional videoing / filming with DSLR’s where manual focus is preferred, enabling focussing pulling whilst video recording.

The lens is supplied with front and rear lens caps, petal shaped lens hood, and soft lens case.

Available fittings: Canon EF Canon M mount (EF-EOS M), Nikon F, Sony A, Sony E, Fujifilm X, Pentax K, and Olympus / Panasonic Micro Four Thirds (MFT / M43) mount versions
